OUR BIRDS
Our "babies" are pure white homing pigeons which are members of the Rock Dove
family and have been carefully bred and trained to refine their special homing skills using the sun, the earths magnetic pull
and object recognition so they will safely return home. A great deal of time and effort goes into ensuring they remain healthy,
safe and have a pleasant living environment so they look and perform their best at your special occasion.
TRAINING
Our doves receive
many hours of training to ensure a heartfelt release followed by a beautiful ascension culminated by a magestic circling of
the sky before flying off into the distance to return home to their loft. You may find yourself disappointed if you select
another service that uses white racing pigeons for releases as racing pigeons are bred and trained to dart away fast significantly
reducing photographic or video opportunities or overall joy of the release. To identify if a bird is a racer, check its band
for a AU or IF racing association marking. Our doves do not do double duty for racing and releases. Worse yet, many pet
shops sell non-homing birds like the Ringneck or Mourning Doves for ceremonial releases that would not be able to survive
in the wild.
